Antique Orientalist oil painting of a Moroccan boy, dated 1887. The boy is dressed in a white blouse with embroidered orange red vest, pantaloons, tunic and shoes, a pale green sash, and a white turban. He stands beside a paneled desk and a red upholstered Victorian chair and a red folding screen. Verso, there is faint stamping on the stretcher which is difficult to read but looks like (Ghaleranter Brig-Genvasaremy APO 1887). The painting, stretcher and frame are completely original. The frame measures 11 x 15 inches. The canvas measures 7.5 x 11.5 inches. There is an old inventory label on the stretcher. I got a chair from my grandmother with carved dragons on it. After searching everywhere, I found the same chair on your website. I thought it looked Asian, but had no idea how valuable it is! I almost sold it to a friend for a hundred bucks. I am so glad I used your site to learn how much it's worth! Your price guide is such a great tool! Thanks Again!!
