Early country New England American painted blanket chest circa 1760, possibly made in Maine. Solid pine with beautifully grain-painted surface meant to imitate tiger maple and mahogany. The beaded single drawer, large hand cut dovetails, high feet and scalloped apron all point to exceptionally skillful country cabinetmaking. All original, excellent condition. Measures 42" W x 18" D x 35.5" H. T
