Antique Japanese mizuya chest, or kitchen cupboard, with bronze hikite silding door pulls and iron drawer hardware, circa 1860. Measures 73 inches high, 16.5 inches deep and 47.5 inches wide. Built in three sections: the base is 7.5 inches high, the center section is 29 inches high, and the top section is 36.5 inches high; the sections are 18, 10.5 and 13 inches deep inside. There are ten drawers and eight sliding doors. Excellent condition. The base is a later addition, easily removed if one prefers not to use it. This cabinet's timeless design would complement a modern setting as well as antique surroundings.
I got a chair from my grandmother with carved dragons on it. After searching everywhere, I found the same chair on your website. I thought it looked Asian, but had no idea how valuable it is! I almost sold it to a friend for a hundred bucks. I am so glad I used your site to learn how much it's worth! Your price guide is such a great tool! Thanks Again!!
