Antique Grand Tour 19th C. Capodimonte porcelain plaque. A molded polychrome painted relief of the Nativity, depicting the Holy Family with surrounding angels, mounted in a 17th C. style ebonized octagonal frame, having incised brass panels inset with oval-shaped semi-precious stones (lapis, cornelian, etc.), divided by arabesque appliqued figures. Capodimonte maker mark, underglazed ("N") verso. Italy, c. 1880. Dimensions: The plaque itself measures 8" H x 6 1/2" W and the original frame measures 13" w x 14" h x 1" d.
