Heavy bronze temple bell c 1941. Dated March 5th 1941. We believe the bell is much older than the date that is engraved into it. Made from very heavy bronze with a heavy bronze chain. The bell measures 9.5 inches high by 7.5 inches across with a 30 inch chain. This bell has a wonderful sound. We also believe that the inscription on the bell is written in Tamil, a Dravidian language spoken by around 52 million people in India, Sri Lanka , Malaysia , Vietnam , Singapore , Canada , the USA , UK and Australia . It is the first language of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, and is spoken by a significant minority of people (2 million) in north-eastern Sri Lanka This piece is on display in our gallery at Clock TowerAntiques Center and can be seen in-person by visiting 824 E Main Street Branford,CT 06405. I got a chair from my grandmother with carved dragons on it. After searching everywhere, I found the same chair on your website. I thought it looked Asian, but had no idea how valuable it is! I almost sold it to a friend for a hundred bucks. I am so glad I used your site to learn how much it's worth! Your price guide is such a great tool! Thanks Again!!
