Vanderbilt Cup racing trophy won by Locomobile Company, 1908. These smaller trophies are quite rare. The Locomobile was the first American car to win an International race in 1908 and the company based in Bridgeport CT had reception where these small trophies were given out to commemorate the event and in 1909 the company used this trophy as a mascot for their car radiators. By 1910 the Locomobile company had given up completely on entering automobile races . This automobile memorabilia piece measures 4 and one quarter inches high and made by the Forbes Silver Company in quadruple plated silver.
