Antique early American Queen Anne maple and tiger maple highboy. New England, circa 1750-1770. Measures 71 inches high, 37.75 inches wide at base, 40 inches wide at knees, 19 inches deep at base, and 18 inches deep at top. Made in 2 parts. The top section measures 37 inches high and the base measures 34 inches high. The top and the base are of the same region and period but were married many years ago. The proportions and design are a perfect union. Large had cut dovetails, chestnut back boards and rose head nails. The brasses are all in their original holes. The surface retains a deep rich patina and beautiful color. Just in from a Lyme, CT, estate.
