An impressive English style coat-of-arms hand carved from a single walnut plank, depicting in high relief paired, standing lions supporting a quartered heraldic shield featuring ships & geometric devices, surmounted by a coronet, under a boar's head crest with ribboned motto: "Ne Obliviscaris"* *"Never forget." NOTE: This is a single piece carving, no applique. Unsigned, by Connecticut artist Barbara Stone, c. 1940. Provenance: East Haddam Historical Society, East Haddam, CT. Dimensions: 21 " H x 33" W.
