Chinese Ming Dynasty pottery bonsai planter in sancai glaze. Eight male figures support the upper section, which is decorated with panels of lotus, chrysanthemum, peony, and 2 dragons. Between the male figures are resting deer and mythical creatures. The scrolled bracket feet are mounted to a platform base. Measures 14 and one half inches wide by 11 inches deep and 9 inches high. Very heavily potted. Two corners of the platform base are broken, and there are some chips and flakes to the relief carving, all shown in the detail photographs.
