Maria Martinez (1884-1980) San Ildefonso Pueblo Pottery. This Maria jar is signed on the base Marie and Santana and was made between 1944 and 1954. She signed her name either Marie or Maria. This one is typical of the style made in that time period. The band around the upper part of the vessel is decorated in precise matte black designs. The jar is in good condition displaying the expected amount of wear scratches for a piece of this age, without breaks, cracks, etc. Signed Marie & Santana pieces are highly collected.
