SOLD ITEM 4345 - Capo di Monte plaque depicting allegorical or mythological scenes

There are 3 images of this item.

Capo di Monte historical plaque. Capo di Monte porcelain was first made in Naples, Italy, in 1743 to 1759. The factory moved to Madrid, Spain, operating between 1771 and 1834. Since that time, the porcelain has been produced in Italy by the Doccia factory. The windmill in the background of this plaque is interesting. The scene may depict one of the many battles the Dutch fought against the English during the seventeenth century. The quarter-sawn oak frame with beaded liner dates from about 1890, so that may also be the approximate date of the plaque. Approximately 8 by 12 inches.
