James Rizzi Painting. This "James Rizzi" city scene was done in 1974. "Rizzi" is a painter and printmaker. Born 1950 Brooklyn, NY. Address: Manhatten, NY. Studied: University of Florida, Gainsville (BFA). Exhibited: Brooklyn Museum 20th Nat'l. Print Exhibition, 1974; International Olympics Museum, Lausanne, Switzerland, 1996; Univ. of FL, Gainsville, 1996; Hakone Open Air Museum, Hakone, Japan, 1996; Pusan Hyundai Art Gallery, Seoul, Korea, 1996; Center for the Arts, Vero Beach, FL, 1997; Kunst Museum, Limburg, Germany, 1997. Comments: Mr. Rizzi's style has been characterized as "urban primitive". His idols are Dubuffet, Klee, Haring, Warhol, and Bugs Bunny (!). His design work includes: album cover and music video for Tom Tom Club; menus for Denny's restaurants in Japan; limited edition china for Rosenthal China; exterior of Boeing 747 aircraft for Lufthansa subsidiary Condor; NYCTA Metrocard; and ad campaign for Bolla Wines. He also served as the official artist of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Image is 48 inches square, acrylic on canvas, in the artist's frame, signed James Rizzi 1974.
