Teapots,Antique silver,Antique American coin silver. American coin or sterling silver teapot by John L Westervell in a wonderful pattern depicting flowers and leaves. Exquisite hand work.This silver teapot was hand made between C1840 and 1845 and is an excellent example of American silver work at its best during the 19th century. The silver teapot measures 12 and one haf inches high. It is hall marked Wendell and Feltman J.L.W. Albany. The monogram is a lightly engraved and looks like A L. This teapot would have been part of a larger sterling or coin silver tea service consisting of a tray, sugar and creamer, a coffee pot, waste bowl and in some cases, a spooner.
